We made it!!
After a LONG drive, another snowy pass from Reno over Donners Pass to Sacramento and north to Chico, we finally arrived at Jared and Hollie's to meet our new niece Kala. Family pictures, dinner, and cousin gifts.... the kids were THRILLED to see cousins (and be out of the car too). We were there for Kala's blessing and to enjoy all the cousins. Here's the lot of the Rogerson clan: 13 Grandkids and counting....

Christmas Class Parties
So if it isn't enough that we decide to leave on the last day of school to drive to California, or that I've just finished 3 nights in a row to 11pm for a Volleyball tournament, lets throw in a morning concert at the school and three class parties. Yes I said THREE class parties: Party #1 at the preschool involves a carpool to the Care Center where the kids sing carols, hand out cookies, and go back to teachers house to smack a pinata. Party #2 1st graders reading stories, making crafts, and playing a rousing game of Christmas Bingo in which Chance won!! Yea! Party #3 is for the 2nd Graders where we're making Cupcake Rudolph's, decorating tree ornaments, a story, and another game of Bingo!
All the while the car is packed, the food is stashed, and each kid has a "stocking" bag hanging from their respective car seat with some entertainment to cover the next 7 hours in the car (Too bad this will eventually be 10 hours and we'll not reach Reno) but thats for the next post. Today its just a party!

Why finish a basement?
While Giegh's parents were here for Thansgiving, we made a makeshift bed in the little girls room with a queen mattress, some bucky boards, and our food storeage wheat (Class I know) needless to say when they left Bailey and Chance decided they needed a turn to sleep in that bed too, so here we are with all 4 kids in the same room. Aly in the crib, Reagan on the toddler bed, and the 2 Bigs in the bed. This picture poses the question... why are we finishing the basement? Who needs more room when they all just want to sleep in the same room anyway!

Happy Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving this year was a Rogerson year, hosted in Cedar Hills by Gi's Aunt Cindy, and attended by Grandma Dunn, Uncle Scott & Geoff, and G&G Rogerson who drove through hideous snowy weather to be with us. Emily made her famous Lion House Rolls and Cindy turned out some pretty amazing turkey and stuffing.... to say the least. The kids had a ball helping me make some Turkey's from Oreos, and after a trip to Cabelas and family Birthday party for Braden and Travis Clark, the weekend was a hit. We are truly grateful to have family that is so good to us, that supports us, and more than anything that gives each holiday such tremendous meaning to both us and our kids. Thanks to all who helped make it such a special day!

UEA "Staycation"
Crafting at Aunt Tam's with Grant, Jane, Claire, and Liv
Kids out of school for a long weekend, where do you go? what do you do? We could drive hours to find a cheap motel and a new spot to explore, only knowing our kids they'd rather just stay at the motel and swim for the duration of the stay. Then there's meals out and gas money... so here's our plan: Drive to Orem and "stay" at Grandma's, fit in an hours worth of tokens at Chuck-E-Cheese, swimming at the Rec, crafting at Aunt Tam's, Barnyard Boo at Thxgiving Pt with Jen & Josh, Mini-golf at Trafalga (bummed that the batting cages were closed), and movie night with a pizza as usual, only on Grandma's big screen and really what more could you ask for.... these grins will tell you-- NOTHING :) Love you kids!

Happy 90th Grandma Bird!

To the loveliest lady I know, 90 and still looking amazing, go-go-go. Quilting, knitting, and traveling to family functions. We feel so lucky to live close and see our Dear Grandma "BOWD" as Reagan so endearingly calls her.... and who could complain about being a member of these Bird women, definitely good stock! Love you all! Thanks Grandma for starting this brood!
